High School and College scholarships are available to members, member’s wives, member’s children and also Catholic students who may or not be associated with the Knights of Columbus.

To be eligible for a scholarship from Father Maurice J. Wolfe Council #11372 all applicants must first file an application for a Maryland State Council scholarship.

High School Scholarships:
  • William J. O’Brien, Jr. Memorial High School Scholarship.
  • Frederick M. Gossman Memorial High School Scholarship.
College Scholarships:
  • Father Amos Gaudette Memorial College Scholarship.
  • Monsignor William F. Sauer College Scholarship.

All information and needed forms are available on line at the Knights of Columbus Maryland State Council website (www.kofc-md.org). Additional help is available from the scholarship committee members.

All completed applications must be presented to the Financial Secretary of Father Maurice J. Wolfe Council before application is forwarded to the Maryland State Council Scholarship Fund. This is the only way the Father Wolfe Council knows an application is being filed for a scholarship.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to file the application on time. After the Maryland State Convention (usually in May of each year), the Father Maurice J. Wolfe Council scholarship committee will determine what scholarships can be awarded. These determinations are made on a one year basis and solely depend on the amount of money available to the scholarship committee. Applicants will be notified by letter of the amount of the award if any, and the time of the presentation.

The Ronald J. Engle Memorial Scout Foundation
Inspired by a daughter’s fond memories of spending summers with her family at the Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation while her dad worked as part of the camp staff, and a father and son’s trips to Cub Scout summer camp at Camp Oest at the Reservation in the early 2000’s, The Ronald J. Engle Memorial Scout Camp Scholarship was established in 2002 as a partnership between The Engle Family and St. Francis de Sales Cub Scout Pack 810. The Ronald J. Engle Memorial Scout Foundation now focuses on supporting Eagle Scout candidates with project grants and we are looking to provide college scholarships in the future.
